Cuban-Style Chicken Stew

This absolutely amazing recipe I've found in the March issue of Savuer Magazine. OMG, this chicken is so good! It has a perfect combination of different flavors which create a very bright and remarkable dish. I've made some changes in the ingredients, but you know, I do this with every recipe. After I've tasted my home cooked Cuban-style chicken, I've started dreaming about travel to Havana someday, and stay there at least for a week. I definitely know what I would do there, will drink ... Eggplant Rolls with Cream Cheese, Walnuts and Cilantro

While this spring week seems to be pretty rainy in Palo Alto, that doesn’t mean we can't have vivid sunny meals on our plates! This fresh veggie appetizer seems like a perfect option for me. These rolls are roster eggplant slices, with creamy but light filling and slices of fresh ripe tomatoes inside. Since the eggplant is roasted instead of fried, this is a low-calorie, vegetarian dish. What else is good about this appetizer, is that it could be a perfect starter and set the mood for your ... Continue Reading

Basic Crepes Recipe

Growing up in Ukraine, one of my absolutely favorite dishes were my grandma’s incredible crepes. Oh, that was really something! Just imagine a huge plate with a mountain of fresh and hot crepes thin as silk, with a jar of homemade apricot jam standing nearby and a cup of hot, aromatic black tea. These are the memories I will tell my children. I can still feel the taste and smell of those crepes like it was just yesterday! Probably that is why I love crepes so much, and it was one of ... I will keep searching for good dessert ideas, so you could treat your friends and family during the winter holidays! This pie looks and tastes just amazing, but it's still pretty easy to make. This pure creamy delight will be a great dessert for a ... Continue Reading

Cranberry Sugar Pecan Balls

Christmas is coming, and that means we all need to taste new cookie recipes. This year I decided to bake a lot of different cookies, pack them in lovely boxes and give to my friends as a small holiday gifts. This recipe is just a first try, but I'm already crazy about these delicate sugar balls because they have all I like so much: cocoa powder, nuts, dried cranberries and pinch of love! That's why they are so delicious. You can replace pecans with any of your favorite nuts. Walnuts, ... Continue Reading

Chocolate Cake with Soft Meringue and Pecans

One thing I need to say about this recipe is that this is the best cake I've ever made! It's extra chocolate, gluten-free and light as air. Although the cake came out pretty different from the original recipe, and I have no clue how could that happened, I just love it! I've baked this Chocolate Cake as a present for my friend's Birthday, and I can't describe how much she liked it. You don't even imagine how many compliments about my cake I had that night. They warmed my heart! Thank ... Continue Reading

Healthy Whole Wheat Pancakes

If you haven't noticed it yet, I'm a huge fan of any kinds of pancakes, crepes, and blinis. I can eat a dozen of those guys at a time, that's why I'm trying to keep this obsession under control. I always experiment with different types of flour and milk, and I can proudly say, these pancakes is my triumph. They light and healthy because I used whole wheat flour, almond milk, agave nectar and a bit of avocado oil. If you guys watch your weight, this can be your perfect breakfast! Continue Reading
