Roast Duck Made Easy (Vit Quay)/Thanksgiving Alternative to Turkey/Holiday Duck



Roast Duck is an elegant option to chicken or turkey and not as difficult to make as you think. I share my unconventional roasting method for making a flavorful and juicy duck, a delicious sweet and savory glaze, and tips and tricks for preparing a beautiful bird.

Ingredients:

1-5 lb duck
2 Tbsp salt for washing duck

for the Marinade:
2 inch section of ginger, grated (approximately 1 Tbsp)
4 garlic gloves, crushed (approximately 1 Tbsp)
zest of 1 large orange (approximately 1 Tbsp)
2 Tbsp Vodka 5-Spice Marinade
1/2 Tbsp salt
1/2 Tbsp onion powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika

for Inside the Duck:
1 large orange, cut into wedges
2 1-inch sections of ginger, smashed
4 garlic cloves smashed
3 green scallions

for the Glaze:
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp 5-spice powder
1 Tbsp frozen orange juice
1 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp ground ginger

Other Items:
1 large paper grocery bag
1/2 cup peanut oil
1 bamboo skewer
2 12-inch lengths of twine
clear tape
large roasting tray

Yields: 4 servings

Ngyên liệu:

1 con vịt khoảng 2 – 2.25 Kg.
2 m. canh muối để rửa vịt

Ướp Vịt:
1 miếng gừng khoảng 5 cm bằm, khoảng 1 m. canh
4 tép tỏi bằm, khoảng 1 m. canh
Vỏ của trái cam lớn mài vụn khoảng 1 m. canh
2 m. canh Vodka 5-Spice Marinade
½ m. canh muối
½ m. canh bột hành
½ m. cà phê tiêu
½ m. cà phê ớt màu (paprika)

Ướp bên trong Vịt
1 trái cam lớn, cắt múi
2-1 đốt ngón tay gừng đập dập
4 tép tỏi đập dập
3 tép hành lá

Nước sốt:
1 m. canh đường nâu
1/4 tsp bột ngũ vị hương
1 m. canh nước cam đông đá
1 m. canh mật ong
1 m. canh xì dầu
½ m. cà phê bột gừng

Cần thêm:
1 bao giấy lớn (loại túi giấy đựng thức ăn)
120 ml dầu đậu phộng
1 cây xiên bằng tre
2 sợi giây dài 30 cm.
băng keo
1 khay nướng lớn

Cho: 4 phần ăn

Homemade Chinese 5 Spice Crispy Duck Recipe

Stir fry venison recipe

2 large Duck breasts with skin
Shaoxing wine
Sesame oil
Honey
Chinese 5 spice powder(star anise, cloves, cinnamon, fennel and ginger root)
Ground black pepper
A pinch of salt

Sauce:1/2 tsp of minced ginger and 1/2 tsp of minced garlic, 1 TBS of Thai sweet and hot chili sauce, 1-2 tsp of sriracha hot sauce, 1/2 tsp of sesame oil, 2-3 TBS of light soy sauce, 2 tsp of hoison sauce, 1-2 TBS of chopped green onion and chopped cilantro.

Pan seared the skin for 5 minutes on medium heat until dark brown and crispy.

Preheated oven to 400 degrees and cook for 4 minutes. Enjoy!!!!!!

Best to serve with steam bun!!!!!!
